About

Welcome to Charlottesville Words, a blog for readers and writers in the greater Charlottesville area. My name is Elizabeth, and I moved to Charlottesville a couple of years ago with my husband and kids. I love to read, I’m working on becoming a better writer, and I’m thrilled to be living in a community with so many bookstores, writing groups, exciting authors, and serious readers.

Too shy to leave a comment? You can contact me personally here. But only if you’re nice.

  1. Oh, hey. I saw you had visited my College Rule Notebook blog. I am a Cville resident myself. Just wanted to say hello.

  2. Hi! I’m not a Cville resident, but I write for Blogcritics.org, too (mostly music and tech news related stuff), and one of the few people who read my personal blog is from Charlottesville. He’s with the Charlottesville Podcasting Network.

    All the best.

  3. Nice site, Eric. I like what you’ve done with Cutline.

  15. I just thought I’d stop by and tell you I love this blog. I feel like we’re kindred spirits with our common love of writing and reading. Of course, our blogging is quite different. So glad you’re here; so glad you’re blogging. Keep up the good work.

  16. Thanks, Marijean!

  17. Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you so much for posting about Susan Gregg Gilmore coming to New Dominion! Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen is getting terrific reviews in publications and from booksellers (word-of-mouth). Susan is having some terrific book signings. I hope you get a chance to read it…I read it in one night. I also hope you’ll come to New Dominion as I know Susan would love to meet you!

    Again, thanks for blogging!

  18. I am happy to have found your blog. It’s great!

  19. How about a discussion of Herman Hesse. Anyone?

  20. Didn’t mean to be anonymous. Interested in any discussion of Herman Hesse. Have been rereading “Magister Ludi” and impressed again by its magnitude of ideas.

  21. Nice site – clean and uncluttered!
I don’t live anywhere near Cville, but thousands of miles away in Europe.

I help review materials for Onyxtic.com too. Can’t remember how I ended up on your site though :-) ) …nice work anyways.

    All the best.

  22. Charlottesville’s all about the book. More bookstores per square mile than UTS stops.
