  • From VFH: "The proposal in the Virginia House of Delegates to eliminate all state funding for VFH has been averted. The Senate proposal was adopted in conference to fund VFH at $1.14 million for 2011 and 2012.

We are grateful to each of you not only for contacting your representatives and writing to the editors of your local papers, but also for recruiting so many friends and constituents who called and wrote their Delegates and Senators on our behalf. We are certain without your efforts we would not have succeeded.

Unfortunately, VFH did not escape unscathed; we did lose $290,000. As we move forward in the next year, working to restore our funding and making adjustments to new economic realities, we will continue to ask for your support to preserve the programs that help make Virginia such a rich and vibrant place to live."
