Getting by with a little help

Last week I had surgery. That kind of thing is never pleasant, but my friends and family have made the preparation and recovery a near pleasure. Flowers, chocolates, food, phone calls, emails, kind wishes, every kind of thoughfulness you can imagine, have all come my way. My gratitude also goes out to the nurses on the fourth floor at Martha Jefferson Hospital — they are sweeties. Most of all I thank my husband, Mr. Glass, who is taking excellent care of me.

Posts may be sparse for a while (I nap a lot), but to all my friends and readers, I send this symbol of my great appreciation — A basket of puppies:

  1. Glad to hear it went well. Enjoy the rest — it’s too hot to do much of anything anyway.

  2. Here’s to a quick recovery–and lots of good nap-dreams!

  3. My nap-dreams and night-dreams have been so odd. Usually I’m trying to move a lot of furniture around, or I have to help get somebody ready for something. This morning I was trying to jump out of a moving car. And lately they’ve all ended on a note of extreme heat and parched-ness.

    Marijean, yes, too hot!

  4. Thanks for the puppies. I was worried, for a moment, that someone had brought them to you. The idea of recovering from surgery and training puppies ’bout made my head explode.

    Take care.

  5. That would be a nightmare. No, I’ve been eating the chocolate that’s been brought to me, but the puppies are for you!

  6. Nap and be well. Take care.

  7. Hmmm, moving furniture, helping somebody get ready for something, jumping from a moving car…could it be that a recent project is overwhelming your thoughts and dreams? :)

  8. It does kind of sound familiar.

    Thanks, Erika.
