I LOVE this idea of closing in on the gap. Thank you, E.!
Glass’s use of the term “gap” really struck a chord with me. I don’t know that my taste is necessarily impeccable, but I do feel the gap between what I’m able to do as a writer and what I perceive as excellent work very keenly. My husband (who is my biggest supporter) and many others have tried to tell me that the secret is to Just Keep Working, but somehow this video got the concept through to me in a special way.
i have always known this is true but somehow the way he says it makes more of an impact. the longer we write i believe the more we find our voice as well, this helps us close the gap because we start rising to meet our own expectations of greatness, which are based on our own abilities. thanks for sharing this!
