The Charlottesville Podcasting Network has posted a new podcast from the New Dominion Bookshop:
On Friday, April 11, 2008, poet Kevin McFadden spoke to a capacity audience at the New Dominion Bookshop in Charlottesville. McFadden read from his book, Hardscrabble, a Poetry Series Selection of the Virginia Quarterly Review.
I enjoyed McFadden’s reading very much. The “scrabble” in the title refers to McFadden’s self-professed mania for wordplay — taking a line from another poem (“The Gift Outright” by Robert Frost, for example), and turning anagrams of it into another poem.
McFadden was introduced by his wife and fellow poet, Angie Hogan. Click here to enjoy the reading.
