Let the podcasts roll! Charlottesville Podcasting Network has posted the audio from yesterday’s Festival of the Book Opening Ceremony. Speakers include Robert Vaughan, President of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, Ken Boyd and Dave Norris, who read proclamations from the county and city, and the young winners of the Letters about Literature contest.
Hawes Spencer presents Hook short story contest winners Christy Strick and Sally Honenberger with their awards. Charles Shields, author of Mockingbird, rounds out the ceremony with a speech about the transformative power of reading.
