VQR Event – South America: Untold Stories

WHERE: UVA Rotunda, Dome Room, Charlottesville. (Parking available at the Central Grounds Parking Garage.)

VQR Fall issue

COST: Free and open to the public.

To mark the publication of VQR’s special issue on South America, join us to hear talks by:

  • Daniel Alarcón, award-winning author and associate editor of the Peruvian monthly Etiqueta Negra;

  • Kelly Hearn, Buenos Aires-based reporter for The Christian Science Monitor, National Geographic, and The Nation;

  • Gabrielle Weiss, videographer and photojournalist who has produced documentaries in Cuba, Paraguay and Argentina; and

  • Charles Lane, radio journalist whose work has appeared on National Public Radio.

Opening remarks by Ted Genoways, editor of VQR, and Jon Sawyer, director of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.

A reception will follow at the offices of VQR at One West Range, Hotel A (approximately 100 yards west of the Rotunda). [map]
