Former Charlottesville resident Bella Stander will make her expertise available to Backspace members October 22-24. Membership in the Backspace forums is $30. For comparison purposes, consider that Bella’s workshops are usually held in NYC and LA, and cost around $500. If you’re an author who needs advice on publicity, $30 is pretty sweet!
(If you talk to Bella, tell her “Ciao” from me!)
October Guest Speaker
Publicity expert Bella Stander will conduct an online question and answer session with Backspace members at the discussion forums October 22 – 24.
Bella is a writer and consultant to the Virginia Festival of the Book. Formerly the book editor for Albemarle magazine and a long-time contributing editor at Publishers Weekly, she has also reviewed books for Entertainment Weekly, People, The Wall St. Journal, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle and other publications. She is a member of the Authors Guild, National Book Critics Circle, National Press Club and PubWest. See her writing website, and her blog, Reading Under the Covers.
Bella is also going to conduct several “Prep to Pitch” evening workshops at the upcoming Backspace Agent-Author Seminars. Space for these extra sessions is limited. If you’re interested, be sure to register for the seminars as soon as possible.
