There doesn’t seem to be much love in Charlottesville for the Lewis and Clark statue on Main & Ridge. If you’re sick of seeing poor little Sacagawea cowering behind big, brave Lewis and Clark, now’s your chance to do something about it. Read all about it at Wistar’s blog.

Hey thanks for the link! We wouldn’t be Charlottesville if we weren’t protesting something to do with Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, or Wal-Mart. I like your blog.
Hmmm… I must say, that always has kind of bothered me. It’s like they’re saying “OK, we’ll admit she was there, but she was barefoot and pregnant the whole time”.
Not to mention, we probably need a statue of York somewhere.
I have hated that statue for my ENTIRE LIFE! What the hell is a guide doing kneeling behind the guys she’s guiding? There’s a little double meaning going on there, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean?
