So good to know I’m not the only person in America who appreciated Altman’s Popeye. Thanks to Ed, Quiet Bubble, and Critic After Dark, I’m sending it to the top of my Netflix queue. (Has it really been 26 years?) (A Jules Feiffer screenplay — I’d forgotten that.)

The MacArthur Fellows have been announced. Corey Harris of Charlottesville and Marc Edwards of Virginia Tech are among the distinguished winners of the renowned “genius grants.”
