Just one more reason Charlottesville is an awesome place to live. Where else east of the Mississippi would you get the chance to hear Ward Churchill, Natsu Saito, Derrick Jensen, and Dana Lyons — all in one weekend? Columbus: Myth and the American Dream Revisited will be a full weekend of investigation into “our collective historical and cultural lineage, its consequences and contemporary condition.” Expect it to be…edgy.
Dates: October 5-8. Some events are free, others have a sliding admission fee. Venues: Vinegar Hill, Live Arts, UVA Art Museum.
Brought to you by: The Living Education Center for Ecology and The Arts and The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative.
What were you going to do that weekend anyway, cut out construction paper silhouettes of the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria? That’s so first grade!

Ward Churchill is a very violent, dangerous person.
I have a blog about him.
