Open Culture brings us another gem: Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds broadcast. Listen to it, and see if you don’t get a chill.

At 23, Orson Welles made the cover of Time Magazine for his radio and theater work. This was well before he made the classic Citizen Kane.

    After listening to it, I can understand why people who tuned in during the middle of the broadcast would have panicked. It’s blood-curdling!
