Here’s a useful tool for the thrifty bookshopper — BooksPrice. Go to the site, enter the book you’re shopping for, and BooksPrice will return a list of retailers who offer the book, from lowest to highest price. But here’s the beautiful part — it also adds in the shipping price to give you the true total. So while some crafty auctioneer on ebay might be offering On Chesil Beach for $9.95, they’re adding nearly eight bucks for shipping, bringing them in well over Wal-Mart’s low, low total price of $12.92.
Fool disclosure — I think this site is a great idea, but I heard about it through a press release that was sent to me. The company is offering me my choice of one of three free books — regardless of whether or not I plug their site, of course. Works for me. Tell you what — I’ll request Water for Elephants and give it away to a faithful Cville Words reader. Deal?

I have not tried that site, but have for many years used the old faithful addall.com. I have no idea where the name came from, but it is also a book price comparison site.

Interesting. addall.com come up with a different set of prices and different rankings. Now we can compare the comparisons.
