New book by local author Kathy Erskine

Quaking by Kathy ErskineTalent abounds in Cville! Just this morning I opened the Tandem Friends School summer newsletter, and there on page 7 was some news about Kathy Erskine, the mother of a boy in my son’s class. And not just any news — Kathy has a book coming out called Quaking, “a new young adult novel that centers around a young girl living with Quakers.” Her website has an excerpt and lots more information. Nice cover!

Right below that item was one about American Title III winner Jenny Gardiner, also the mother of a child in my son’s class. Glad to know my son’s in good company!

  1. hi! thanks for the mention! Hope you’re having a great summer! (my kids are refining the art of sleeping in till obscene hours!)

  2. Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m just back from the American Library Association convention in DC (librarians are wonderful!) and had fun signing books and meeting great people. I hope you don’t mind my mentioning that I’ll be signing books at C’ville Coffee (I love that place!) on Tuesday, July 10th from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Love your blog–you’ve got lots of great stuff here!

  3. I always judge a book by its cover, and this one is pretty cool!
