Adapting novels for the screen

The Third ManConversational Reading has a link to the latest issue of Bookforum, which is 100% online. The big feature is Fiction into Film, with an essay by Philip Lopate, reflections from adapters and adaptees, and a list of all-time best adaptations.

  1. I had to note the image of “The Third Man” in your post. When I was in College many years ago and took a class also titled “Fiction Into Film.” The Third Man was one of the primary novels used in the exploration of Novel to film adaptations and the philosophies behind the practice of adapting.
