i&#039;ll admit that i was surprised to receive his inquiry in response to what i feel amounted to nothing more than a slice-of-life reflection on a chance encounter with a stranger whom i was in the unique position to have previously read something about in a book, whether or not one considers &#039;me talk pretty one day&#039; to be the kind of autobiographical writing that strives as much as possible to adhere to the truth. 

still, i&#039;m not so sure that alex heard&#039;s request necessarily indicates that he&#039;s a desperate hack.  

i guess your readers can take it for what it&#039;s worth, at any rate.]]></description>
