City announces Festival of the Photo
We’ve already got a film festival and a book festival. And now, thanks to a partnership between the City and the National Geographic Society, we’re about to get the Festival of the Photo.
In a Saturday release, City spokesman Ric Barrick says the Festival will take place in June. Until then, National Geographic is whipping up interest with a Downtown Mall display of “extra large” banners featuring images captured using time-lapse photography from cameras placed in the wild by Geographic photographers.
At some point we’re going to have to start adding weekends to the calendar to accommodate all these festivals! But a photography festival does seem like a natural choice for Charlottesville.
